Dr Manhattan SQ Tribute by Paindancer Dr Manhattan SQ Tribute by Paindancer
Occasionally I get behind the lens

An amazing bit of fan art to the upcoming Watchmen movie. It was so worth sitting still for 5 hours for the paint to be applied, and reapplied, etc. Please make sure you stop by all the people involved. They put in much more effort than I did (which involed for me sitting there.. and trying to scrub it off the next day... and over the next week)

Now that I saw the movie (finally) I have to say WOW! I thought the make-up was awesome before, but as commented earlier - you even have similiarities in your facial features. Very cool.

Wow, I just noticed my comment on this didn't go through earlier, so let's try that again.

First of all, wow, I agree that the makeup artists who did this really deserve as many compliments as possible! Admittedly, when I first saw the thumbnail for this, I thought it was a photomanip. I was shocked to full view and see the detailed makeup work. It's amazing!

You also look really great as Jon. Haha. A lot of people that've dressed up as him just don't have the build or the face shape, but you definitely do.

Awesome work, all of you!

Thank you, on all counts.

We pull together a lot of talent from different sectors, and a lot of the photos our group comes up with, espicially the photographer, people assume are photoshopped, but they ususally arent. :)

Not a bad result for it just being a group of friends messing around for a evening.

You're very welcome!

I hope you know I didn't mean anything negative with the photomanip comment. Haha. It's more along the lines that I was in disbelief that anyone could have pulled off that makeup so well physically, so I assumed it was a photoshop job. Boy, was I wrong. And to be honest, I have doubt anyone else will do it as well. Not to sound mean, but people have tried it before, and it usually looks really awful. (Myself included, but that's not saying much, LOL.) You guys have set the bar REALLY high, in my opinion.

And yeah, I agree. You guys do very awesome and professional work, for sure!

Not at all, I took it as a compliment.

Check out some of Doomday-Dawn's shots. outside of a very select skin correction, he uses zero photoshop. You will be scratching your head on 'how is that possible' on more than a few I am sure.
